The Minister of Health, Dr. Saleh Mahdi Al-Hasnawi, and the legal custodian of the Al-Abbas’s (p) Holy Shrine, Mr. Ahmed Al-Safi, inaugurated the Al-Joud Factory for Intravenous Solutions in the holy Karbala Governorate today, Wednesday, October 16, 2024. The opening ceremony was held with an official ceremony attended by the Governor of Karbala, Mr. Nassif Jassim Al-Khattabi, the Chairman of the Provincial Council, Dr. Qasim Al-Yassari, and a number of parliamentary, local and religious figures, security leaders, social dignitaries, and the general managers of the Ministry’s central departments and Karbala Health. The Minister of Health stressed in his speech during the opening ceremony that “the factory is a qualitative addition towards localizing the pharmaceutical industry in the country with a production capacity of up to 27 million units of intravenous solutions annually.” The Minister pointed out that “the factory is a major achievement and a step towards achieving health stability,” indicating that “drug security can only be achieved by localizing the pharmaceutical industry.” He added that “the Ministry of Health has provided all necessary facilities for all those wishing to open pharmaceutical factories.” For his part, the legal custodian of the al-Abbas’s (p) holy shrine, Mr. Ahmed al-Safi, confirmed that “the factory was built according to the latest advanced and precise pharmaceutical industry.” He explained that “the shrine has a new hospital project under construction in Babil Governorate.” In a related context, the head of the engineering projects department at the al-Abbas’s (p) holy shrine, Mr. Diaa al-Sayegh, said that “the Ministry of Health is a wonderful model in cooperation, dealing and providing facilities for the success of the establishment of the Al-Joud Factory for intravenous solutions.” The Minister, the legal custodian and those present toured the factory’s departments to see its sections and production lines.
